Integrated Inpatient and Recovery Treatment
Though some patients are able to detox themselves with the help of their friends and carers in the community, but others need more specialised and intensive care to come off alcohol, heroin, methadone, buprenorphine, cocaine, crack, diazepam and other drugs.
You will need to be seen as an outpatient to carry out a comprehensive assessment of your needs. It will include:
- Drug and alcohol history
- Mental health problems
- Physical health problems
- Background and social circumstances to link with development and progression of the above.
- Mental state examination
- Basic physical examination
This assessment will help to generate a diagnostic formulation and treatment plan.
If a need for an Integrated inpatient detoxification and recovery treatment is recognised, you could have a choice of 3 centres in England where you could be admitted under the care of Dr Rajendra Kumar or if you would like to go abroad, it could be arranged as well. You will be offered a 4 week or 6 week inpatient programme depending on your needs.
